IT IS NOT GOOD TO BE ALONE

FAMILY THANKSGIVING SERVICE – 30/04/2023

BIBLE TEXT: GENESIS 2:18

And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” (NKJV)

BIBLE REFERENCES/NOTES:

From the above Bible Text, God knows that it is not good for a man to stay alone that is why HE created a helper comparable to man. 

To the unmarried - it is not advisable to rush into marriage; pray fervently to God, take your time to know your partner-to-be, and carry your parents along. Let's not take the principle of God in marriage for granted. 

What is loneliness?

Loneliness is a feeling we get when our need for rewarding social contact and relationships is not met. 

It is what we get as a state of mind linked to wanting human contact but feeling alone. 

Loneliness is the mental or emotional discomfort you may experience from either being alone or feeling as though you are alone.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. (KJV)

As couples, there's a need to work together because Satan knows the power of togetherness and that was the reason he (the devil) was able to deceive Eve. 

1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (KJV). 

As couples, there is a need to unite your strength, resolve your differences, and not be deceived. 

According to Confucius a Chinese Philosopher, he considered family as the basic unit of social order: 

Strong families form the basis of a strong community 

A strong community is the basis of a strong state 

A strong state is the basis of a strong Nation. Do we have a strong Nation today?

If we have a strong family, we will have a strong church, and if we have a strong church we have a strong community and if we have a strong community we will have a strong nation. 

God wants the family to unite through common faith, spirit, and purpose for the common good of all and to the glory of God. 

Galatians  3:27- 29

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

PRAYER POINT:

1. Father, forgive me in any bad way I have treated my partner in Jesus name. 

2. Father, please bless, empower, and strengthen my partner in Jesus name. 

Daniel 9:16-19

3. Oh Lord, according to your righteousness, let Your anger and fury be turned away from my family and Nation in Jesus name.
