HOW TO MOVE FROM THE PASSENGER’S SEAT TO THE DRIVER’S SEAT

It has been said “a journey of a thousand miles start with a step” everything in life starts from small beginning, after a baby is born, he/she starts from nothingness to greatness. Even the Almighty God started the creation from nothingness without form. Gen.1:1-3. Starting small has divine connection, Jesus Christ started his ministry from small. His first miracle of turning water into wine, from there he became life giver by raising a stinky dead body back to live. 

Moved from passenger's seat to the driver's seat

The beginning may be rough and tough, but if you are determined and focus on God with perseverance, faithfulness, diligence and with consistency, I assure you with God by your side, glorious end is yours. Many of us have been in the passenger’s seat of barrenness (in every aspect of life), stagnation, confusion and poverty. Many even think these factors that have been driven them to and fro; they have no power over it.

As a child of God, we are no more under these factors. But because of our lack of basic knowledge concerning who we really are in Christ Jesus, enemy continue to maltreat us . In Romans Chapter 8:1-2, it was written “there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the spirit. 2). For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”  

It is the lack of knowledge, says the Lord, that makes people perish. It is the lack of knowledge that makes us remain in the passenger’s seat of life and accept the present state as our lot. God does not have any evil or bad thing for his children, it is the work of Satan.

There was a time my brother called me from Lagos and told me he had a terrible nightmare; and most of the time, he will see cow pursuing him, and some with casket. 

I assured him that God is in control and, the enemy’s evil will return back to their head. The following day I approached my assistant pastor, brother Bode (RCCG Praise Assembly) and he open my eye to Romans 8:1-2. Since that day I see that chapter in a new light and God deliver my brother. The point here is that my brother is a Christian and born again but because of his ignorant, he did not know his right. I pray that God will open your eye and cause you to stand on your right in Jesus name.

As a child of God, you will face trial, suffering, and persecution. All these are to prepare us and make us stronger so that when we see lion like David, we would not tremble. David first trial was with bear. So don’t be discouraged because you have not married or because you have prayed and fasted and it seems God is not hearing. No, God heard you before you open your mouth. 

Don’t give up hope, assuming Joseph give up and slept with his boss wife – the whole generation could have been wiped out. Quitters don’t win, move from where you are, from your passengers seat to where God wants you to be, to your driver’s seat. So that God will be in control of your life.

God will move you forward by that same “strong hand” He used to move the children of Israelites out of bondage in Jesus name.
