James Allen wrote, in his book that, ''Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself; he also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace.
By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master''.
The Scripture
is given in other for a man to be thoroughly equipped, and ready for all good
work - 2 Timothy 3:17
By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master''.
Summary of thought and character |
Due to the falling state of man; He overturn, weave many skills and also
include so many other things in other for him to exploit either positively or
negatively.
The reason why Scripture is given is not 100% follow again. In this
process Man has forgotten that his character, thought counted most in whatever
he does.
The Natural
Character traits received at birth has to be drop at the very moment a man realize his falling state, repent and confess his sin and turn a new leaf through Jesus Christ.
As a new Creature in Christ, he must be purified and be
conformed to His image. It is in this wise that Apostle Paul wrote,
“my little
Children, with whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you” Gal.
4:19.
Christ must be formed in Christian Character. Before you are formed, the
process of being formed depend on what is going on in your mind which is, your
thought.
- “Nearly all Men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him Power”. -Abraham Lincoln
A man is literally what he thinks, his character being
the complete sum of all his thoughts.

As the plant spring from, and could not be without the
seed, so also every act a man springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and
could not have appeared without them.
This applies equally to those acts called
“spontaneous” and “unpremeditated” as to those, which are deliberately
executed. The evil seed is of the devil, whenever your act or action is against
the word of God or against His regulation, such actions is of the devil.
Your act is the blossom of thought, the fruits of
those actions are joy and suffering; if the act is just, righteous and good, it
will produce joy but on the other hand if it is evil, it will lead to suffering
and thereby garner in the sweet and bitter fruitage of his own husbandry.
The first fruit is joy, if a man do the will of God
and do the right thing at the right time in the sight of God, and also walk
before Him blameless; he will enjoy unspeakable joy.
The second fruit is for
those who refuse to do the right thing, those who are lawless, wicked, liars,
murderers and, those who practice all kind of evil act will suffer at the end.
In character trait of some Christian, it is sad that
it seems quite acceptable in some quarters that a believer should be
indiscipline, self-willed, proud, judgemental, touchy, dirty, lack manner of
approach, talkative, and critical.
They are not considered as sinful provided
he does not commit fornication in action, steal, murder physically.
All these
are the character traits of the devil which lead to sin. Many so called
believers commit them with a “good” conscience while claiming to be holy and
filled with the holy spirit, and also maintaining spirit of high censorship on
other believers who are equally as sinful as they are, except that their sins
fall into the class of “forbidden” sin.
Depart from those sins if you don’t
want to be cast out from the Kingdom of heaven. Those sins are the deeds of
darkness hidden in Christian characters.
